Climbing Uluru
Day 4 of Central Australia 2018 trip
Road signs on Uluru road
Today was our final full day on holiday and I had one last thing I needed to cross off on my list - climbing Uluru. It was basically the whole reason I went on this trip, as they were closing it at the end of 2019. I had never really thought I would visit Uluru this young but circumstances demanded it! (that's not the first time I've said that about a specific location, the other place I'd never thought I'd visit before 30 was USA and would you look at that - I've visited it twice now).

Today we went on a day trip outside of Yulara/Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. We were supposed to do this on our last day (tomorrow) but I pushed it up to accomodate for a possible Uluru climb tomorrow (fingers crossed!)

Day 2 of Central Australia 2018 trip
Kata Tjuta taken from the road just after sundown
Today was our first full day at the rock. I had a big plan ahead of me - see the sunrise, climb Uluru and possibly do the base walk as well.
To the Red Centre!

This was another one of those unexpected trips which occurred due to the timing of certain events. Jetstar was having a sale (50% off!), I was pretty stressed out at work and needed something not related to work to look forward to, my parents also wanted to visit Uluru and it was just announced that the Uluru climb was closing on Oct 2019. So off we went!
