More Malacca
Day 10 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 8 in Malaysia

Malacca river
We had stayed out pretty late the previous night so we left for brunch a bit late. Today we were going to explore more of Malacca.

Day 9 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 7 in Malaysia
Malacca (or Melaka) is a city with a lot of history, which was what enticed us to it in the first place. It is UNESCO listed too, so tick another one off the list.
Day 8 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 6 in Malaysia
It was time to leave Kuching and Borneo. We did Kuching quite slowly haha but I think it was rather productive. Borneo wasn’t even on the initial plan but I pushed for it and and we’re both glad I did. At least I can say A enjoyed the eating part a lot.
We were headed back to Peninsula Malaysia, and there’d be no more flying for a little while.
Day 7 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 5 in Malaysia
We didn’t do a whole lot really. Just slept in, relaxed and ate. It rained a lot too. Lunch was pretty bloody good (REAL TEH TARIK) but dinner wasn’t.
Day 6 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 4 in Malaysia
Fingers crossed the weather will continue to be good. It didn’t really rain during the day yesterday and I was hoping this would continue because we were finally headed to Bako National Park, one of the main National Parks of Borneo. Interestingly, it faces the South China Sea.
Day 5 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 3 in Malaysia
So, we haven’t seen any Orangutans yet. I had really wanted to see one and knew where we would be guaranteed to see one but wasn’t entirely sure we should go.
Day 4 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 2 in Malaysia
It was raining a lot in the morning so we decided to stay in. Will the rest of our stay here in Borneo be like this? :(
The original plan was to go and hopefully see some Orangutans in the wild-ish at Semenggoh Nature Reserve, which is where they rehabilitate injured or orphaned Orangutans and reintroduce them back into the wild. The staff at Semenggoh leave out fruit twice a day for the Orangutans if they wish to come back for a free feed.
Day 3 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 1 in Malaysia
Kuching means ‘cat’ in Malay. But we weren’t here for the cats (or dogs, for that matter) - Kuching was to be our base to exploring Borneo. I was pretty excited to go to Borneo to see an orangutan and hit up some national parks.
Day 2 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 2 in Singapore
We had another day in Singapore but I can’t say we did a whole lot. Met up with a mate and did some shopping and that was it, really. You’ll notice the only pics below are of food ;)
Day 1 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 1 in Singapore
We’d joked that Singapore was the last time we’d see a high standard of living and that it was all going to be down hill from here, until we hit Hong Kong (whenever that may be). But we also anticipated that there wouldn’t be a whole lot to see so you win some, you lose some. It was also why we weren’t staying for long - accommodation is not cheap!
