Day 2 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 2 in Singapore
We had another day in Singapore but I can’t say we did a whole lot. Met up with a mate and did some shopping and that was it, really. You’ll notice the only pics below are of food ;)
Day 1 of Asia 2019 trip / Day 1 in Singapore
We’d joked that Singapore was the last time we’d see a high standard of living and that it was all going to be down hill from here, until we hit Hong Kong (whenever that may be). But we also anticipated that there wouldn’t be a whole lot to see so you win some, you lose some. It was also why we weren’t staying for long - accommodation is not cheap!
Day 0 of Asia 2019 trip
We are embarking on a trip of a lifetime, one that has been in the back of our minds for a few years now! A quit his job, I told my job “see you later”, our rental agreement ended, we got rid of basically all our furniture and are now ready to spend the better part of a year on the road. Living simply, living out of our backpacks.
Day 29 of Italy-Croatia 2018 trip
Last night, we made a last minute change of plans and decided to go straight to Sorrento instead of spending the day in Positano and then travelling on to Sorrento. We settled on this mostly due to cost - the ferries were quite pricey and we would have to hire the Positano porter service to hold on to our bags during the day. This also gave us some time in Sorrento and allow us to continue moving in a relaxed pace. The original plan would’ve resulted in us being in a rush and worrying about how we would get to Sorrento - transport options just weren’t very good on the Amalfi coast.
Day 9 of Italy-Croatia 2018 trip / Day 6 in Croatia
Car hire time! Yay, freedom! Having your own car to zoom around in is always fun but the cost is pretty high so we are keeping this to a minimum. Our primary goal was to visit Plitviče Lakes National Park, which is hard to get to using public transport. So we decided to drive from Split to Pula and hitting Plitviče Lakes and a number of towns on the way - Klis, Trogir, Zadar and Motovun.
Day 8 of Italy-Croatia 2018 trip / Day 5 in Croatia
Hvar wasn’t originally part of the plan but it was an island A wanted to visit (but Korčula had won out). Because we had nothing else we wanted to do in Korčula, we decided to leave Korčula early and visit Hvar before staying overnight back in Split.
Day 7 of Italy-Croatia 2018 trip / Day 4 in Croatia
Off to visit a Croatian island! A visit to Croatia isn’t complete a visit to an island. It took a long time for us to decide which island to go to (Brač, Hvar, Vis or Korčula) as there was a lot of factors to consider (how to get there, how to get around, what to do there etc.) But Korčula (pronounced “Kor-chu-lah”) won out!
Day 6 of Italy-Croatia 2018 trip / Day 3 in Croatia
We had a pretty good 24 hours in Bosnia and Herzegovina but it was time to move on. It was a decent side trip and I’d love to see more of Bosnia another time.
Day 5 of Italy-Croatia 2018 trip
It was a bright sunny day in Mostar! I was particularly excited to see the main event, Stari Most (Old Bridge)! But along the way we explored the ancient multicultural town of Mostar.

So, the decision was made. We weren’t going to do the Dubrovnik City Wall walk. But to make up for it, we would have to get out of Old Town to get some good views of Old Town.
